Betsy Cagan
President and Founder

Betsy founded Bargaining Power Inc. in 1991 to develop the software she wished she had when she was a labor negotiator for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) in New York and Stop & Shop in Boston. Responsible for all economic analysis in both positions, she built complex spreadsheet models, but knew only compiled software could answer all her questions. While continuing to work closely with many of our customers, Betsy primarily focuses on our software development and our work with unions. She holds a BA in English Literature from Connecticut College and an MBA from Columbia University.


Julie Franzese
Vice President, Marketing and Sales

Julie worked in customer support at Applied Business Technology and Information Builders, two other business solution software companies, before joining Bargaining Power in 1994. Julie heads up our sales and marketing division, which she’s uniquely suited to do, having previously led our customer training and support teams. She continues to work with our sales prospects once they’ve become customers as often as she can. She graduated from Adelphi University with a degree in Political Science.


Paul Gray
Vice President, Software Development

Paul leads Bargaining Power’s development team. Prior to joining us, he worked for three software companies (Scivantage, CTI Data Solutions and Soft Com Inc.) developing applications in the areas of financial analysis and project management. He has excelled at creating solutions that advance analytic understanding, from the user interface to the heart of complex computational code. He graduated from the State University of New York at Binghamton with a degree in Computer Science and Mathematics, and earned his MA from St. Johns University in Mathematics.


Emilie Celeste
Director of Client Services

Emilie directs the Bargaining Power customer support team, prepares our training and consultation materials, conducts software testing and writes the help screens and manual. Before discovering economic labor analysis, Emilie had a varied career including work for the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art and Mugar Memorial Library at Boston University where she studied.
